GRAFFITI- Art or Vadalism??

Become good at cheating and you never need to become good at anything else.

If you don't own a train company then you go and paint on one instead. It all comes from that thing at school when you had to have name tags in the back of something.. that makes it belong to you. You can own half the city by scribbling your name over it.

Writing graffiti is about the most honest way you can be an artist. It takes no money to do it, you don't need an education to understand it and there's no admission fee.

People are taking the piss out of you everyday. They butt into your life, take a cheap shot at you and then disappear. They leer at you from tall buildings and make you feel small. They make flippant comments from buses that imply you're not sexy enough and that all the fun is happening somewhere else. They are on TV making your girlfriend feel inadequate. They have access to the most sophisticated technology the world has ever seen and they bully you with it. They are The Advertisers and they are laughing at you.

You, however, are forbidden to touch them. Trademarks, intellectual property rights and copyright law mean advertisers can say what they like wherever they like with total impunity.Fuck that. Any advert in a public space that gives you no choice whether you see it or not is yours. It's yours to take, re-arrange and re-use. You can do whatever you like with it. Asking for permission is like asking to keep a rock someone just threw at your head.

You owe the companies nothing. Less than nothing, you especially don't owe them any courtesy. They owe you. They have re-arranged the world to put themselves in front of you. They never asked for your permission, don't even start asking for theirs.

Some people want to make the world a better place. I just wanna make the world a better-looking place. If you don't like it, you can paint over it!

Bus stops are far more interesting and useful places to have art than in museums. Graffiti has more chance of meaning something or changing stuff than anything indoors. Graffiti has been used to start revolutions, stop wars, and generally is the voice of people who aren't listened to. Graffiti is one of those few tools you have if you have almost nothing. And even if you don't come up with a picture to cure world poverty you can make somebody smile while they're having a piss.

make very good sense...

3D style Graffiti

Graffiti is not only about paints, markers, spray paints and walls.
Creativity plays a large part in it too=)

High Tech Graffiti!
L.A.S.E.R TAG
Projecting graffiti with a laser pointer on the side of a building.

Floating 3D Graffiti
The graffiti is captured using three camcorders with motion capturing. They record the graffer position and his exact motions he executes with a virtual spray can. By using the 3D glasses, the graffer can view his art in real time.

Led Throwie
Using LED lights to do graffiti.

Urban Body Graffiti
Walee's Graphic Designed Skin

If you’re talented at graphic arts or have a gift for graffiti, why limit yourself to traditional mediums?
Walee uses the female body as his canvas, putting his design skills toward creating the ultimate art project. The colours swirl upward in forms that accentuate the female figure. The beautiful creations transform the bare backs of women into elaborate pieces of art. In contrast to most graffiti, it doesn’t look angry, obnoxious or loud, despite it’s bold use of colours and strong lines. It’s soft, feminine and very unique!

Light Graffiti

It is a photographic technique in which exposures are made usually at night or in a darkened room by moving a hand-held light source or by moving the camera. In many cases the light source itself does not have to appear in the image.

Water Graffiti
Vindict Wine Campaign

Vindict, an Amsterdam wine company, has come up with a really fun campaign featuring water graffiti.

The striking reversed-graffiti is not only an eye catching promotion, but it’s also environmentally-friendly, and a great way to showcase innovative Dutch design. The campaign was launched this month in Amsterdam where it’s featured on paved sidewalks, streets and walls. The messages are created by spraying hogedruk cleaner on these public surfaces, so instead of adding to urban pollution, they’re cleaning it!

I think for every art form, humans have always been seeking for new ways to modified and enhanced it. We humans just love breakthroughs.
