Graffiti Artist of the modern period ( PEZ )

PEZ a.k.a Steven Perry

Steven Perry began painting in 1999 and quickly became both well-known and prolific around his home city of Barcelona

At first he wrote the word "pez" (fish in spanish) in letters to form the shape of a fish. After bombing extensively with this combination of letters and form, he realized that he preferred the image to the letter as he could reach a wider audience, then simply graffiti writers who could read the graffiti code.

Then, he changed his tag into drawing the shape of a smiling blue fish. And this, becomes an icon for his work.

He always draws a smiling fish in order to obtain a smile from the public that sees his grining fish jumping around the cityscape.

"To change the greyish colors of the streets. To change the city the way I want, putting something funny and colorful for the people walking in the streets. Happiness for the people!!!
...my fish is spreading happinees and good vibrations to the people on the streets.."

PEZ.

-inspired by A lot of writers from Barcelona and some cartoons/comics illustrators
-best known for his colourful surreal illustrations

Personally, I like his work a lot cause looking at his artworks really brighten up my mood.
